Canal Cedar Island
It was hot and humid, as August always is in the Mid-Atlantic region. We got up early to hike the Billy Goat Trail, before the heat of the day set in. I shot several panoramic images of the Potomac River. They were all plagued by gray skies and haze. We finished the trail and turned off onto the C&O Canal to go home. On the way back, I got a closeup of a Red Tail Hawk, large turtle, and a Great Blue Heron. Right before heading for the car, I stopped along the canal, sat down, efficiently snapped the two images that composed this print, and went home. Sometimes it happens that way.
