Making a Print

The process starts in my studio where I gather and calibrate my equipment. I hike through the wilderness capturing images and end in my studio with a framed print. I call this process, 'making a print.'

Making a high resolution panoramic print requires precise photographic techniques. Each large format panoramic image is composed of at least three or as many as eighty smaller images, seamlessely joined (or stitched) together to enable a very high resolution print. I print these images on large rolls using archival pigment inks and paper. The prints are conservation mounted and framed to maximize their lifespan. Well cared for, these prints will last, unchanged, for a century.
